Michael Mendez is a founding partner of Estancia Capital Management. The PE fund, Estancia Capital Partners, is focused on buy-out and growth capital investments in the financial services sector with an emphasis on the asset management industry and related business services.
Twenty-year investment industry veteran Michael Mendez is the former President and CEO of both NWQ Investment Management Company and Tradewinds Global Investors.
Prior to his launch of Tradewinds in 2006, Michael was the key architech of the business model that transformed NWQ Investment from a single-product organizatio with $6 billion in assets under management to two highly respected, institutional-quality, multi-product asset managers reaching in excess of $65 billion of assets under management.
Joining NWQ in 1989, Micheal was named the firm's President and Chief Operating Officer in 1999 and its chief executive in 2001. He began his career at General Electric Company.
Micheal earned a bachelor's degree in industrial technology from San Jose State University. While at General Electric, he complained the firms's corporate marketing/finance programs. He earned the certified investment management analyst designation from the Wharton School.
