16th Wall Street Summit
The New America Alliance presented the 16th Annual Wall Street Summit on October 5-6 in New York City. The NAA remains at the forefront of economic development conversations to accelerate access to investment capital and to ensure Latino and diverse leaders continue to have a seat at the table.
The Summit Opening, sponsored by Univision Communications, Inc., included a fireside chat with Democratic and Republican leaders on the state and outlook of the U.S. economy amid the presidential election.

Sponsored by Herbalife, the American Latinas: Economic, Political & Leadership Force session gathered an illustrious group of Latinas who shared their rise to success, highlighted how Latinas are driving the economy as entrepreneurs, corporate executives and public sector leaders, and outlined recommendations for continuing to elevate the leadership of Latinas across sectors. The Summit Opening Reception followed the Latina session.

Prior to the start of the panel discussion on American Latino asset managers, we were delighted to induct NAA Vice Chair of Programs Juan Sabater, Managing Director, Valor Equity Partners, into the NAA 100K Club which recognizes NAA members who have contributed $100,000 or more in membership dues and sponsorship contributions to the organization. Since the inception of the NAA, collectively, 38 members have invested almost $5 million in the NAA.
We also took the opportunity to recognized two newly elected board members - Les Bond and Danielle Beyer.

The panel included American Latino asset managers who are playing an important role in the American economy, while strengthening the position of Latinos as distributors of capital and new economic development opportunities throughout our communities.

We also presented Administrator Contreras Sweet with the NAA Business Achievement Award for her contribution and legacy in building America's small businesses and blazing the trail for success already achieved by many, and also for building a path for new leaders beginning to build new legacies of business leadership success.
The New Generation session showcased the rise of a new generation of American Latino leaders who are redefining pathways to success and strengthening the pipeline of new leaders moving our nation forward.

We closed the Summit with the Institutional Investors: Capital Behind Latino & Diverse Managers session, which included representatives from pension systems across the nation who highlighted challenges and opportunities institutional investors face as they strive to provide retirement security to their constituents.
