Carmen Ortiz-McGhee is a Senior Vice President at Aon plc, the global leader in commercial insurance brokerage, risk consulting and human capital consulting. In this role she is responsible for driving sales growth and market penetration throughout the Maryland, District of Columbia and Northern Virginia region. Prior to joining ARS, Carmen served as Executive Vice President of Sales for Aon’s Cornerstone Innovative Solutions, where she led efforts in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region. Before joining Aon Cornerstone, Carmen served as Vice President, Investor Relations and Business Development for a boutique real estate private equity firm where she was charged with developing targeted fundraising strategies to more than double the firm’s assets under management. Previously, Carmen engineered programs for a number of non-profit organizations including The Marathon Club, the New America Alliance, the World Airline Entertainment Association and the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC).

A passionate advocate for the growth and success of women and minorities in business, Carmen sits on Aon’s Diversity & Inclusion Council, has presented at many conferences across the country including Aon’s Women’s International Network, the Women of Color Foundation, American Greetings Women’s network events, and the Owens & Minor’s Healthcare Supplier Diversity Symposium among others. She often serves as lead faculty for Aon’s Signature training program “Mastering Client Interactions”. A Dean’s List graduate of the University of Virginia where she received her BA in Psychology, Carmen holds licenses in Life & Health and Property & Casualty brokerage. She is an executive committee member of the NEA Foundation board and Chairman of the Board for the New America Alliance Inc. Board of Directors where she also Chairs the American Latina Leadership Caucus. In 2014 Carmen was selected as one of Business Insurance magazine’s Top 25 Women to Watch, and has blogged for Huffington Post. She lives in Virginia with her husband and their three children.
