MARIA BOYAZNY is the Founder and CEO of MB Global Partners, a New York-based firm focused on special situations private equity and opportunistic credit investing. MB Global manages capital on behalf of Fortune 100 companies, state and corporate pension funds, endowments/foundations, insurance companies and multi-billion dollar family offices.
Ms. Boyazny has been named as one of the Top Five most influential women in alternative investing, among other recognitions. She is the author of several publications, a frequent conference speaker and media commentator for the Wall Street Journal, Fox Business, CNN, Bloomberg TV and other networks. Over the years, Ms. Boyazny has served on the Advisory Boards of many leading asset management firms investing in the U.S., Asia and Europe.
Prior to launching MB Global in late 2010, Ms. Boyazny was a Portfolio Manager and Managing Director at Siguler Guff & Co., a New York-based investment firm. Ms. Boyazny oversaw its flagship Distressed Opportunities Funds I, II, III and IV from inception to $4.5 billion in assets over 10 years.
Prior to her private equity career, Ms. Boyazny was a member of the Investment Banking Division of Smith Barney Inc., where she specialized in providing merger & acquisition and other corporate finance services to financial institutions. Ms. Boyazny graduated with a degree in Economics, with a concentration in Finance and minor in Mathematics, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her M.B.A. from Columbia University.
