Following a historic election season for Latinos, the New America Alliance (NAA) stood together once again with American Latino, corporate, finance and community leaders to celebrate the twelfth anniversary of its flagship event and delivered another powerful Wall Street Summit at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. The event opened with a private Membership Reception that celebrated NAA's new members who joined in 2012.

The Welcome Reception and Dinner featured remarks from NAA Wall Street Summit Co-Chair Tom Soto and NAA Inc Chair of the Board the Honorable Roel C. Campos. The program was launched with an energetic opening keynote address from Benjamin E. Johnson, Executive Director of the American Immigration Council, highlighting the economic imperative and the role of business leaders in immigration reform, and the evening concluded with a powerful closing keynote address by the Honorable Mayor Angel Taveras of Providence, Rhode Island, who shared the challenges and success in shifting Providence from economic crisis to renewed prosperity.

The Welcome Dinner also recognized Goya Foods, the largest Latino-owned food company in the nation, with the NAA Business Achievement Award. NAA Inc Board Member Andy Unanue accepted the award. The Welcome Reception and Dinner were Co-Sponsored by ExxonMobil and Goldman, Sachs & Co.

Day two opened up with a networking breakfast and opening session featuring NAA Co-Founder the Honorable Henry Cisneros, NAA Inc Chair of the Board the Honorable Roel C. Campos, and Robert Mulholland, Group Managing Director and Head of Wealth Management & Investment Solutions at UBS Wealth Management Americas.

The State of the Latino Vote & Media Image session provided important insight into data from the 2012 election with particular focus on Latino turnout and portrayal. This session featured nationally renowned experts NAA Institute Chair of the Board Moctesuma Esparza, NALEO Educational Fund Executive Director Arturo Vargas, National Hispanic Media Coalition President & CEO Alex Nogales, and VOXXI President & Editor in Chief, Emilio C. Sanchez; who discussed the power of the Latino vote as well as the emergence of a new America with diversity at its core. Following the Latino Vote & Media session a message on behalf of the National Museum of the American Latino was given by one of their commissioners, Cid Wilson.

The Luncheon was opened by Frank Sanchez, Sánchez Family Corporation Chairman & CEO, NAA Inc Vice Chair of Goverance and Co-Chair of the Summit; moderated by Ana Maria Fernandez-Haar, Victoriana, LLC Managing Partner and Vice Chair of the Board of NAA Inc and NAA Institute; and co-sponsored by Univision and JPMorgan Chase & Co. Remarks were given by Ivelisse R. Estrada, Senior Vice President of Corporate and Community Relations for Univision Communications, Inc.; Peter R. Villegas, Vice President & Senior Manager of the office of Corporate Responsibility for JPMorgan Chase; and Maria Castro, Vice President of Alternative Investments at JPMorgan and NAA Emerging Leader. The Luncheon featured guest speaker Peter Scher, Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Responsibility for JPMorgan Chase.

American Latinos, the country's largest minority group, continue to be key to U.S. economic recovery and expansion; however diversity efforts lag in the corporate boardroom and executive suite. Latino representation on corporate boards of directors was the focal point for the closing of day two. The Corporate Board Leadership Session & Reception was co-hosted by the New America Alliance and the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility, co-sponsored by Latino Leaders Magazine, and featured co-sponsoring remarks from Founder & Publisher Jorge Ferraez. This session featured a dynamic speaker line-up including: NAA Inc Board Member Ingrid I. Rivera, HACR President & CEO Carlos Orta, Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer Horacio Rozanski, and Korn/Ferry International Senior Client Partner of Diversity & Inclusion Victor Arias.

For the first time, the Wall Street Summit featured Pension Fund Diversity Day, presenting a powerful dialogue with market leaders on strategies to increase the participation of Latino and minority financial services firms in the institutional investor space. The NAA is proud to have co-hosted this day with the Association of Asian American Investment Managers (AAAIM), the Council of Urban Professionals (CUP), the National Association of Investment Companies (NAIC), and the National Association of Securities Professionals (NASP).

During the Pension Fund Diversity Day Opening Breakfast, NAA CEO Maria del Pilar Avilapresented opening remarks followed by the induction of NAA Board Member Tom Soto and NAA Associate Member Thurman White into the 100K Club. The 100K Club recognizes NAA members who have invested $100,000 or more towards the implementation of the NAA mission.
