Last June 1st, 2022 in NYC, New America Alliance partnered with Blackstone to help educate young and mid-level Latino professionals (21 – 35 years old) about careers in financial services organizations, and help build a pipeline of talent into the buyside.

A panel of insiders about the different roles and responsibilities in private equity – from finding investments, to how they are reviewed and approved, to creating value in businesses – participated at the event including Gerson R. Guzman, NAA’s Executive Board Member; Jose M Guzman, NAA’s COO; Lauren Arribas, Analyst on the Blackstone Growth team; Alejandro Canelas Fernandez, Senior Vice President on Blackstone’s Legal and Compliance team; Sabrina Martins, Vice President in Blackstone’s Hedge Fund Solutions Group; and James Socas, Managing Director in Blackstone’s Tactical Opportunities business acted as Panel Facilitator. Solange F. Brooks, NAA’s CEO was also present and closed the event.

The session offered a good understanding of the different entry points and paths for young and mid-career professionals, and a lively Q&A session followed. Congratulations to Blackstone for taking the initiative and we encourage our partners to continue building their DEI efforts.
